Bar Shortbus

Shortbus located on the 3rd floor of E-Hwa bldg(refer to the separate location info) is a cocktail bar in Jongno-3(Sam)-ga.

Quite close to exit3 of metro no.3 at Jongno-3-ga station, this building is on the one end of Jongno gay tent bar street.

Cute bar owner serves nice cocktails priced from 6k krw to 10k krw. Also beer and other liqueurs are available.

Open at 7:30 until after midnight like many other bars nearby. Large space with 6 tables and counter. Interior is quite neat and pretty.

Not sure if bar staffs speak good English but I saw some English speakers hung around at this bar so it should be okay with basic English communication here. [Update] Heard bar owner speaks quite good English so if you're from English speaking country, you should come here.

Free wifi is provided.

ps. Just found out one of the bar staff here speaks fluent Japanese. This bar staff used to live in Japan. So I you're from Japan, you should drop by here.

Minor Jongro updates

There has been some changes in Jongro bars in the mean time. Here's a quick update.

1. LoveStar

It's still here and, even more, freshly renovated(picture above). From my experiences so far, LoveStar is one of the most favorited bars by visitors. So come visit this newly decorated place, enjoy drinks and chill out.

2. Hue in Gangnam

Sadly it's not there anymore. Instead, the owner opened a new bar called, so familiar, Grindr in Jongro. Haven't been there yet but will try it and let you know soon how it is.

3. Others

Reportedly there're a couple of more new bars in Jongro area. Stay tuned for more updates of those new places.

Sunlight in your eyes

Sunlight in your eyes,
you were holding me up in the air,
sang me upon the trembling candles
looking in my eyes
Sunlight in your eyes.

Kisses softly put on my lips,
smiles quietly shining on your face,
tunes gently you were singing to my ears
it was Sunlight in your eyes.

GQ

GQ is another bar known as bear bar along with Lovestar and barcode.

Though all the gay bars in Seoul is blown away by Worldcup fever, GQ is still busy with crowd. Guess it's because of its big wall screen displaying soccer game.

As a gay bar, it's an average class of a cocktail bar. If you're interested meeting local bear, just give it a try.

Also it gives you free wifi connection and if your iPhone runs out of battery, kindly ask barmen to recharge it.

Location information is included in the below link. It's on the 2nd floor.

Enjoy your gay night out in Seoul :-)

Barcode

I revisited a bar called 'Barcode' after a long while which used to be known as a bear bar with nice atmosphere.

Back then, this bar was the only place providing free wifi to its customers though there're a few more these days.

Barcode after a while looks exactly the same as it was. But nothing more special than any other bars.

Check the location information below included in this post if you ever interested in giving a visit. It sits on a 2nd floor and its door is hidden between two buildings.

Korea Queer Culture Festival

Korea has a gay festival which is called 'Korea Queer Culture Festival'.

As one of a few gay events in Seoul, it offers diverse opportunities for gays to communicate their gayness in public with such events as queer movie festival and gay parade.

This year, it's on from June 2 through June 12. Why don't you go out and mix with them?

For more details, visit its website. Enjoy! ;-)

Bar Hue in Gangnam

Here's a good news to gays staying near Gangnam area, which is one of the busiest district in Seoul.

A bar which is called 'Hue' is newly opened about a week ago nearby Yeoksam metro station. Though Gangnam area is packed up with tons of fancy restaurants and bars, there hasn't been no such place for gays other than a couple of saunas. Now if you're looking for a beer or whiskey or wine in a friendly gay atmosphere in Gangnam, Hue is a place you should be headed to.

They serve whiskey, cognac, wine, bubbly, beers and non alcohol drinks. A bit strange that they don't have any cocktail.. Price looks moderate whereas this bar Hue is clean, a bit posh and spacious enough.

They say all staffs here speak English so feel free to say hello to them. It opens from 7 pm through 5 am so just drop by anytime you want.

Hue is located on the 2nd floor of a building which has a significant signboard of 'JJang PC club' and the building's location is as follows; 37.506175,127.035336

Copy/Paste the numbers into the google map and it'll shows where it is.

You might bump into me having a drink here since I work near this area.

Enjoy gay Seoul!
